Time will change in America on this day

In the United States, the time usually changes twice a year. This is almost always done on the second Sunday in March, when daylight saving time begins, and the first Sunday in November, when it ends.

The last time the time was changed was on November 5 last year when the clocks were turned back an hour. Meanwhile, the next change will take place on Sunday, March 10 to kick off the summer season.

Thanks to the new technological age, most users don’t have to worry about making changes themselves. This is because electronic devices, such as smartphones, automatically change to 2:00 am

Where in the United States does time not change?

In case you didn’t know, the Uniform Time Act of 1966 exempts states from observing daylight saving time. This is the reason why the time does not change in some regions of the United States.

So they never set their clocks forward or back, the state of Hawaii and most of Arizona, because they don’t have daylight saving time.

Likewise, other territories such as Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, and American Samoa maintain standard time throughout the year.

If we talk about Arizona, we should clarify that daylight saving time has been used in that state since 1918, but in 1968 it was decided not to use it.

The truth is, although this state maintains standard time, the Navajo Nation, to the northeast of the state, observes daylight saving time.

It so happens that, in March 2022, the United States Senate approved a measure that would make daylight saving time permanent across the country.

It was the bipartisan “Sunshine Protection Act” bill, which was approved unanimously. This is to ensure that Americans no longer change their watches twice a year.

However, the proposal was not approved by the House of Representatives and did not reach President Joe Biden to be signed into law.
