Rachel Weisz is a British actress born on March 7, 1970 in London, England. The daughter of Jewish parents, her father was an inventor and her mother a teacher, and she grew up in the city’s Hampstead neighborhood.

Weisz studied English literature at Cambridge University before starting her acting career. Her first lead role was in the 1994 film “Death Machine”. She then gained fame for her role in the 1999 film “The Mummy”, in which she played the heroine Evelyn Carnahan.
