Lyon-Lille, pre-match

Along with PSG-Brest, it is undoubtedly the best poster of the round of 16 of the Coupe de France. Olympique Lyonnais welcomes Lille, with a ticket to the quarter-finals at stake, and hopes to end the season with a title for the Rhône club.

Losc, who are also involved in the Europa Conference League, are one of the fittest teams in the championship, this success against Clermont (4-0) allowed Paulo Fonseca’s men to climb the podium. OL, for their part, have been doing much better since December and the arrival of Pierre Sage on the bench. A renewal was confirmed on Sunday during the win against OM (1-0).

Olympique Lyonnais were also major promoters of the winter transfer window, allowing their coach to have several options at his disposal for this meeting (see possible lineups). Note that his match undoubtedly has another stake: the loser can “borrow” its stadium for the final, as the Stade de France is reserved for the Olympic Games this year.

The meeting between OL and Losc starts this Wednesday at 6:30 PM. The match will be telecast live on beIN Sports 1.

Lyon-Lille, possible lineups

On the OL side, recent recruits Said Benrahma and Aurel Mangala have qualified, but Benrahma is still suspended due to a red card against West Ham. His debut with the Rhone Club has therefore been postponed.

According to the team, Pierre Sage could take advantage of this to move around a bit, leaving Nicolas Tagliafico, Nemanja Matic and especially Alexandre Lacazette on the bench at kick-off, thus allowing Ryan Cherky to reclaim a starting spot. But the big news could be the debut of goalkeeper Lucas Perry, who could replace Anthony Lopes for this cup match.

Lyon: Perry – Kumbedi, Mata, O’Brien, Caleta-Carr, Maitland-Niles – Mangala, Caquet – Cherki – Numah, Orban.
