The mayor of Loiret issued an order to charge parking for Paris councillors
Councilor Ugo Planchet of Saint-Aignan-le-Gellard issued a humorous decree this Tuesday, February 6, to mock the vote held last weekend in the capital.
Ugo Planchet defines himself as a “defender of humor and justice”. Possibly scandalized by the vote to triple the price of SUV parking in Paris, the mayor of Saint-Aignan-le-Gellard, a small town in the Loiret southeast of Orleans, decided to respond “absurd by absurd.
The 31-year-old councilor, without a label, this Tuesday, February 6, issued a decree aimed at making “payable for the parking of vehicles of Paris municipal councilors” in the territory of his municipality.
A mocking text, since it is unlikely that these elected officials will go to Saint-Aignan-le-Gellard, based on “Article n°42 of the Code of Public Absurdity of Local Authorities, according to which we have a duty to find the origin. Ensuring the prosperity of our municipality means of financing to do.”
“General Tour of Nearby Bars”
According to the contents of this decree, the price of each hour of parking of the municipal councilor of the capital in Saint-Egan-le-Gellard must be 18 euros. A flat rate of 225 euros is also offered for parking of six hours or more. A scale based on that will come into force in the center of Paris for SUVs.
“Any violator of these rules must make a public apology to all the citizens of Saint-Aignan-le-Gellard and be offered a general excursion to the nearest bar,” we can read in the decree.
Finally, elected officials of Paris councils will have to pay a “special rate” if they park bicycles weighing more than 10 kg in the municipality. The plan is to triple the rate “on February 29 of each leap year”.
In the capital, the Consultation organized by municipality On “Creation of specific rate for parking of heavy, bulky, polluting private cars”, victory was seen at 54.55% “for” despite a meager turnout.
Opponents of the Paris Council criticize the illegal vote, which does not truly reflect the opinion of Parisians, and which does not take into account the opinion of residents of other Île-de-France, who will be most affected by the measure. This may also concern some residents of Saint-Aignan-le-Gellard, as the town is located just two drives from Paris.
