“Scammed by a construction company in Santiago still awaiting compensation” | Daily list

Residents abroad and in the country who bought property rights in some real estate projects developed in the city of Santiago by construction company Arconim more than 12 years ago are still awaiting compensation from the company.

Some of the scammers, as they call themselves, when contacted, informed Listin Diario that they are waiting for their money to be returned, as they have failed to comply with what they agreed to since 2012.

One of those affected by the non-compliance of the Arconim Constructora company is Yudil María Muñoz Almonte, a resident of the city of Santiago, who in 2017 agreed with the owners to buy an apartment worth about two million pesos. But to date they have not complied, not even with a refund, much less with the delivery of his apartment.

Muoz Almonte said the place where his apartment is supposed to be is called Project Allegro II, located in Arroyo Hondo Sector, Yapur Dumit Avenue, in the southern area of ​​Santiago City.

She said that together with her husband they started the purchase process in August 2017, and they paid more than 400 thousand pesos to the company at that time and until 2019 they religiously paid the amount of 20 thousand pesos every month. Bankerservas account in the name of Archonim.

Sensing something wasn’t right, Munoz Almonte went to the Arkonim facilities, looking for some sort of answer. There in 2019, officials of the construction company promised him that they would return his deposited money within 60 working days, a promise he never kept.

The woman, along with hundreds of people who were affected by Arconim Constructora’s non-compliance, is asking the government to encourage authorities in the case, as hundreds of people are demanding the return of billions of pesos.

Another person who wants her money back is Ana Nunez, a Dominican resident in the United States, who was also caught by the construction company and is awaiting the intervention of the Dominican authorities, as she feels unsafe.

Nunez said he bought two apartments in the Harmony residential project, located in the Tierra Alta urbanization north of the city of Santiago, in which he invested about 80 thousand dollars.

He explained that he only received promises from people who claimed to work for the company, with the intention that they would return his money. In return, they asked her to sign some documents that they would return part of the money, although they did not give her a date when this would take effect, so she did not agree to the signature.

Nunez said he did not understand how, after so many complaints, the authorities could not intervene, and on the contrary, the construction company continued to open new offices in Orlando, Miami and other cities in the United States. .
