When will iPhone 16 be launched?
News about the iPhone 16 is expected during Apple’s annual launch event, an event scheduled for September 2024. Possible dates for this event could be September 3 or 10, which are the usual days for the company’s annual launch. However, we cannot rule out either September 4 or 11 as options.
Will Apple continue to surprise us?
The latest WWDC 2023 keynote event in June impressed us by celebrating the App Store’s 15th anniversary with exciting new features. The launch of the iPhone 15 in September was also notable with its Dynamic Island and new roadside assistance service. Now, all eyes are on the future with the iPhone 16, which promises significant innovations in both design and hardware.
As for RAM, the leaks suggest that all models will have 8GB, which is an advance for the Standard and Plus versions, but not the Pro models. In addition, it is rumored that the Pro models may support Wi-Fi 7 and the new 5G modem, which means higher speeds that the standard iPhone 16 model cannot match.
How much will the iPhone 16 cost?
As for pricing, it may remain the same as the iPhone 15, although some analysts suggest that the iPhone 16 may be more affordable due to changes in the chip manufacturing process. However, if production costs continue to rise, Apple may be forced to adjust prices to protect its profit margins. The current colors (yellow, pink and black) will probably be available for the range.
What does iPhone 16 have in store for us?
There are already some certainties. In terms of screen size, an increase in diagonal is expected, with 6.3 inches for the Pro version and 6.9 inches for the Ultra and Plus, while the standard version should remain at 6.1 inches. Besides the size, the iPhone 16 line could feature a brighter display. Apple is rumored to be considering more energy-efficient technologies to improve battery life.
After the introduction of a customizable “Action” button on the iPhone 15 Pro, Apple may add a new capacitive button called “Capture”. Located below the power button on the right, this button will focus on photography and creating multimedia content, especially three-dimensional content for virtual reality.
As for the camera, it is predicted that the standard iPhone 16 Pro will also retain the tetraprism lens of the previous model and, thanks to a slightly larger housing, will allow the diagonal to increase to 6.3 inches, as mentioned above.
iPhone 16 Pro or Max?
The traditional split between standard and Pro models could evolve with the possible introduction of an Ultra variant in 2024. The Pro Max is expected to morph into the Ultra, underscoring its status as a flagship rather than an upgraded version of the regular Pro. The A17 chip, which will become the A18, is believed to be exclusive to the Si models, and there is talk of a “super-telephoto” with a 48MP ultra-wide camera for the Pro Max. The most significant camera upgrades will be reserved for the Pro, Pro Max and/or Ultra models, which may adopt printed glass for the telephoto lens, enabling more powerful zoom without sacrificing a thin and light design.
