Official: Call of Duty and all Xbox Day One games in Xbox Game Pass | Xbox

Microsoft has confirmed some information that was rumored for several weeks. We know that four Xbox games are coming to competing consoles and that the brand is working on the next-gen Xbox. But the company has also confirmed that all of its games will be released on Xbox Game Pass on day one.

All Xbox Day One games in Xbox Game Pass, including Call of Duty!

Amidst rumors in recent weeks, some doubted that Call of Duty would eventually be included in the Xbox Game Pass. But Microsoft has brushed aside the rumor by confirming that all Xbox-developed games will be available on the service on day one. Xbox Studio head Matt Booty confirmed this during the Xbox Podcast.

First, all our games will be on the Xbox platform. Second, all of our games will be included in Game Pass from day one. And third, we know Game Pass will only be available on Xbox.

This is a very clear statement confirming that upcoming Activision Blizzard games will be available in Xbox Game Pass as soon as they are released. The big question remains whether Call of Duty 2024 will be released directly into Game Pass at the end of the year, or if a pre-takeover agreement exists between Sony and Activision.

During a hearing between Microsoft, the FTC, and the CMA in 2023, the latter indicated that Call of Duty would not come to Xbox Game Pass before 2025. In its final report of more than 400 pages, the CMA highlighted various advantages that Microsoft could have. If the acquisition is validated then the gain is achieved. On the question of Call of Duty and its arrival in Xbox Game Pass, it was significantly suggested that the latter would not be added to the service before 2025:

Based on this, we expect the benefits to begin to accrue within a reasonable time frame (although, in practice, there will be some delay between the completion of the merger and the arrival of CoD. Game Pass in 2025).

As always, trust Xboxygen to follow the events and keep you up to date in real time on everything related to Xbox and its strategy.
