Guardiola’s magnificent tribute to Klopp
Zapping Onze Mondial EXCLUSIVE: Moussa Diaby’s “Little Brother” Interview!
Pep Guardiola apparently did not escape the question. Asked about Jurgen Klopp’s departure from Liverpool at the end of the season following Manchester City’s win over Tottenham (1-0) in the round of 32 of the FA Cup, the Spanish technician paid tribute to his German counterpart: “I will sleep well. It was a nightmare the day before the Liverpool games.” He began sarcastically before continuing : “He is a part of Manchester City that is also leaving, because without his team we would never have played at this level. I was shocked this morning and the news of his departure. Personally, I will miss him. He is one. A wonderful person and manager.“
Klopp, Guardiola’s biggest rival!
The Manchester City coach assures him that Klopp is his biggest rival: “They (Liverpool) have been our biggest rival and personally he has been my biggest rival since he was at Dortmund and I was at Bayern. I think the Premier League will miss his charisma, his personality and the way his teams play. It’s always nice to see how positive they are in their approach. They try to win every match. I wish him all the best.“
Yet Guardiola is confident he will return to football: “It may be an opinion he won’t accept but one he will return to. I know. Maybe in 10 years it will need to recharge its energy. He will be back with his personality and his energy. National team, other team, I don’t know, but football needs personalities like him. It was a dream when we were together and I hope that next season we will be eligible to go out to dinner or have a drink together.“
