Thousands of Israelis demonstrated on Saturday 20 January, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accused of continuing the war to stay in power. In this regard, the Israeli army released pictures showing a tunnel in the Gaza Strip, where the hostages were allegedly held.
The Israeli Defense Forces on Sunday, January 21, released images of a Hamas tunnel where Israeli hostages were being held. Located in Khan Younes, south of the Gaza Strip, it is 830 meters long and 20 meters deep. After crossing an underground entrance, where hidden bombs awaited them, the army discovered a long electrical network, mattresses on the floor, piles of dishes and even a bathroom.
“About twenty hostages were held in this tunnel”
No hostages were found, they were all transferred. “According to accurate reports, fighters discovered the tunnel opening in the home of a Hamas terrorist. (…) About twenty hostages were kept in difficult conditions in this tunnel“, Israeli army spokesman, Daniel Hagari declared. According to the New York Times, Hamas’ underground network stretches for about 720 km in length and has 6,000 entrances.
