Editor-in-Chief of Vogue American made his Broadway debut at the James Earl Theater on January 10 alongside Anne Hathaway. His role? By itself, in a way.
Music audience Gutenberg! Lucky, played at the James Earl Theater on Wednesday night. The play tells the story of two best friends, young writers played by Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells, dreaming of creating a major Broadway musical about Johannes Gutenberg. Each performance ends with the entrance of a celebrity, who appears as a “Broadway producer” to present Gade and Rennells with their musical contract about the inventor of the printing press. Bucky Shields, Jake Gyllenhaal, Neil Patrick Harris… the stars have followed each other since the September premiere. This time, Anne Hathaway and Anna Wintour took the stage.
The artistic director of Condé Nast Editions, 74, takes the stage and introduces himself as “a very famous Broadway producer,” who stops and turns to Anne Hathaway. “And here’s my help,” she adds. “Still?” A disappointed Anne Hathaway replies, prompting cheers from the audience.
