Yes, I am talking about “Resident Evil 2”, the remake that created a sensation upon its release. Some were skeptical at first – how could Capcom improve on one of the best survival horror games of all time? Well, let me tell you that the developer really delivered with this conversion. They introduced new features that truly transformed the game for a modern audience.
Now that it’s been added to the PlayStation Plus catalog, there’s no excuse not to play it. Unless of course you are too scared. You’ll find yourself in Raccoon City, surrounded by hordes of zombies, searching for items and weapons while tackling dynamic action scenes.
Capcom is undoubtedly the master of survival horror and “Resident Evil 2” is a perfect showcase of that. They managed to translate the amazing gameplay while improving the visuals spectacularly. Even the gory scenes are stunning, and the darkness, made even scarier thanks to HDR on the PS5, is truly terrifying.
Don’t worry if you haven’t played the original, you won’t miss much of the story, and much of it is recapitulated in this remake. You should definitely try this game, even if you’ve done it in the past and are worried it will ruin your memories. Trust me, this remake is brilliant.
