The Interior Ministry is launching an online form to file complaints for theft of personal data following a late-January cyberattack on two third-party payment providers, Viamédis and Almérys.

About 33 million people are affected by the leak of personal data from two operators, Viamédis and Almerys, which handle third-party payments for several complementary health and mutual insurance companies.

“Victims can now file a complaint using an online formThe Ministry of Home Affairs explains on its website. It is not necessary to go to the police station or gendarmerie brigade.. Simply download the complaint letter form and send it via France Transfer or by post.

“The stolen data related to people’s marital status, date of birth, social security number, name of health insurer and subscribed contract guarantee”Ministry of Home Affairs clarifies. “This disclosed personal information is likely to be retrieved by cybercriminals for fraudulent use”.

The ministry asks for vigilance while requesting reimbursement of health expenses and possible movement on bank accounts.
