A Direct Payment Stimulus Check of approximately $1,312 in the United States

For more than forty years some US state governments have benefited their residents through the Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) program.

This money comes from capital generated by the exploitation of minerals and oil in the state of Alaska. The initiative is a major incentive for residents, who can apply every year.

Applications for Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) this year 2024 will be open till March 31. The amount is calculated based on the number of eligible applicants and half of the average legal net income over the past five years.

Payment schedule and eligibility requirements

Payment of 2023 Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) is now underway. All eligible Alaskans will receive $1,312 this year.

The first payment of 2023 was made on January 18 for applications in “eligible-not paid” status on January 10. As per the PFD schedule, two more rounds of payment are pending.

Those who are in “not eligible” status on February 7, 2024, will receive their money this February 15. “Eligible-not-paid” status means that although the application meets the requirements to receive payment, it has not yet been made.

Another scheduled date is March 21, for applications that maintain “not-eligible” status until March 13.

Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy announced that he would offer a payment of $3,000 USD per person.

The news was published in the Anchorage Daily News, but the final figure will be determined in late June 2024. Those interested in availing the benefit have to submit their application till the last day of March.

Eligibility requirements are:

  • Be legal residents of Alaska.
  • Be physically present in the state for most of the year.
  • Not guilty of a serious crime.
