Stephen Curry refuses to decree the end of the Golden State Warriors dynasty: “We can return”

After their elimination against the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western semifinals, Stephen Curry , leader of the Golden State Warriors, and coach Steve Kerr were optimistic this Friday about the future of this legendary team that won four rings in eight years.
As terrible as our feelings are now, we feel that we can return
“As terrible as our feelings are right now, we feel like we can go back ,” Curry said at a press conference.
Curry’s Warriors lived their first elimination in a playoff against a team from the West since every time they reached the playoffs since 2015 they reached the Finals.
In addition, Golden State ended 28 consecutive series with at least one road win with this tie, but Kerr believed that his star trio (Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green) can still go very high in the coming seasons.
Draymond, Klay and Steph, our core players, have plenty of gas still in the tank.
” Draymond, Klay and Steph , our core players, have a lot of gas still in the tank,” said the coach.
“They all had great seasons that maybe didn’t end on a high (…) but I think this team has the potential to win championships. We didn’t get there this year but this is not the end of the road ,” he said.
“You’re disappointed and a little ‘shocked’ to find out that it’s over,” said Curry, who was the top scorer in this sixth game with 32 points but suffered from shooting with 11 of 28 in shots and a 4 of 14 triple.
It’s uncharted territory (for us) but I’m proud of the fight we put up
” It’s a tough way for the season to end . It’s uncharted territory (for us) but I’m proud of the fight we put up. The Lakers played amazing throughout the series,” he added.
Curry, however, said it’s ” an opportunity ” for Golden State to come back strong next year.
Everyone is going to get better, they are going to take steps forward, they are going to learn the lessons of this year and try to put them to use next year.
“Everyone is going to get better, everyone is going to take steps forward, everyone is going to learn the lessons from this year and try to put them to use next year,” he said.
Finally, Curry spoke about his already unforgettable clashes with LeBron James , which are part of NBA history.
“He is an incredible player. He brings out the best in yourself (…). There is a lot of respect, appreciation for the battles and the experiences: it is basketball at the highest level,” he explained.
