LC-POWER GAMING 900W – LUMAXX LIGHT, review in english

We return to LC-POWER to continue delving into its product catalogue, sinking our teeth into an ATX chassis that we found quite interesting at a functional and cooling level, the LC-POWER GAMING 900W – LUMAXX LIGHT. The chassis appears to us as an ATX format chassis with a dual side panel that implements a grid area to favor better cooling of our GPU, which gives it a very different aesthetic from anything we’ve seen so far and promises more than interesting thermal performance.

The LC-POWER GAMING 900W – LUMAXX LIGHT
We began to investigate the possibilities offered by this LC-POWER GAMING 900W – LUMAXX LIGHT starting with its front, presided over by aA beautiful mesh panel that ensures sublime cooling. Behind this mesh panel we find a tray that will allow us to install up to 3 120/140 mm fans or liquid cooling of identical dimensions.

We quickly go to the left panel where we find several interesting things, being a distinctive area of the chassis that gives it its main advantages. The first one is that The lower area, which corresponds to the chamber for the power supply and the mounting of the hard drives, has a removable panel with a mesh finish to facilitate the passage of air and facilitate the intake of the fans that we can install on the lower chamber cover. On this mesh area we find the ports panel in which we find a USB 3.2 port, two USB 2.0, two audio jacks and the keypad (power, reset and lighting).

We continue ascending this side finding a dual panel system which is, without a doubt, the hallmark of this chassis. And it is that we will find a removable mesh panel in the lower area while the upper one will be made of tempered glass so that we can enjoy the aesthetics of our components. This lower mesh panel can fulfill two different functions, since it sIt will help our graphics card to be properly cooled if we install it vertically in the three vertical PCIe slots of the chassis or, if we mount it horizontally, to install up to three 120mm fans to achieve an extraordinary lower intake. We remind you that, in addition, we can also install up to two 120mm fans on the power supply cover for the same purpose.

We go to the rear of the chassis, where we find a total of 7 horizontal PCIe slots and 3 vertical PCIe slots to install our graphics or PCIe accessories. On these, we find a location to install a 120/140mm fan. In the upper panel we find a grill finish to allow a correct exhaust of hot air. This metal panel is fully removable, allowing us to access the tray where We can install up to 3 120 mm or 2 140 mm fans and their corresponding liquid cooling.

We finished off the exterior area of the chassis with the right panel, with a solid metal finish and a grid that will favor the flow of air also in this area. If we remove this panel we can access the cable storage/management area with numerous anchor points, rubberised cable glands and a main cable route with pre-installed clips. On the back of the motherboard we can install up to two 2.5″ storage drives. If we go to the lower chamber we will find accommodation for the power supply, which may be up to 200 mm if we leave the storage support or up to 340 mm if we remove it. In said storage support we can install a 3.5″ drive inside and a 2.5/3.5″ drive on top of it.

We turn the chassis and return to the main chamber, where we can install motherboards up to E-ATX. Next to the motherboard area we find a small plate or trim that will hide the cable gland holes for a cleaner and more aesthetically pleasing assembly. Along with this trim we find dmounts for storage units, but we must remove the trim if we want to take advantage of them. In addition, we can install graphics up to 390 mm and heatsinks up to 180 mm for our processor, the compatibility of the chassis with high-performance components being more than evident. Finally, note that the chassis is not exactly small, with some dimensions of 496 x 247 x 465 mm and a weight of 9.27Kgs being made of metal.

Once we have seen the most technical section and the detailed description of the LC-POWER GAMING 900W – LUMAXX LIGHT, we are going to talk about its aesthetics, and this is where we move a bit on swampy ground since, Despite the fact that the implementation of this dual side panel seems to us to be a practical success for cooling the graphics, it must be admitted that the aesthetics of this panel means that it is not a chassis suitable for all tastes since it does something to us more cumbersome than usualhe. At this point, perhaps We would have preferred that all that side had a mesh finish like the one on the front to give the right side a more homogeneous aesthetic but, as we always say, aesthetics is a matter of taste and that is quite personal.
User experience and conclusions
The contact with the chassis section of LC-POWER has seemed quite satisfactory to us, and it is that This LC-POWER GAMING 900W – LUMAXX LIGHT is a chassis that seems quite innovative to us and that implements a set of more than interesting cooling solutions favoring that lateral and lower intake that will reinforce the chimney effect in the airflow and better cool our graphics card.. In addition, the fact that the right cover of the power supply is removable It will allow us to work much better in the source chamber and we will achieve a better finish in this area which, by the way, is usually the mixed bag in all chassis. The management of the wiring in the chassis has seemed more than correct, with several anchor points so you can work freely, pre-installed anchors and the inclusion of a trim to hide the cable outlets. Regarding aesthetics, we can summarize that it is not a chassis suitable for all audiences. Finally, the only point that I do What we miss in a relatively new chassis is the absence of a USB Type C port, something unthinkable in these times.
For all this, we award the Game It Performance, Recommended Product and Price Quality awards to the LC-POWER GAMING 900W – LUMAXX LIGHT
