So a cross between the two franchises would sound interesting, Kirby could fit right in between Mr. Mime and Pikachu. But until that day comes (if it ever comes), a fan and developer is working on a mod for Pokemon BDSP that brings Kirby to the Gen 4 remake as a fully playable character.
Yes, unexpectedly for gamers, the developer of Pokemon Luminescent and notable modder, yisunohas been posting images of his current BDSP project for most of March 2023, and on March 4, Yisuno posted: “Kirby in Pokemon BDSP mod is actually possible”, which excited players who wanted more of the Gen 4 remakes.
The mod allows players to walk the world as Kirby and use the pink monster in battle. According to the developer’s tweets, Kirby’s 3D model replaces Arceus, and giving Kirby a different plate will change his form (or copy ability). This will allow Kirby to have up to 18 different forms.
This Kirby mod has a ton of animations, from idle movements to unique battle animations. Additionally, Yisuno also added Kirby’s ability to transform into a car, just like in the most recent game.Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
Unfortunately, this mod is not available yet, but in a March 11 reply, its developer commented, that they plan to make the mod publicly available and eventually they will do a full romhack with the assets. Let’s hope the wait isn’t so long.
