BOSTON CELTICS-BROOKLYN NETS RACE-2 114-107 (SERIES 2-0) | Even without the dramatic race-1 epilogue with Jayson Tatum’s buzzer beater, the series between the Celtics and the Nets continues to not disappoint in terms of emotion. Race-2 goes to the hosts again, able to come back 17 lengths behind with a great second half from 59-42 especially in the defensive half, putting his head forward in the fourth period without looking back for go 2-0 in the series and put the Nets back to the wall
To understand how well they defended the Celtics this data is enough: in the second half Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving only scored one of 17 attemptswith the former having, however, closed at an altitude 27 (but with 4/17 shooting and no basket in the second half, net of 18/20 to free) and the second whistled by his former fans with just 10 points and 8 rebounds with 4/13 from the field after 39 in race-1. And to say that the Nets were off to a great start with Bruce Brown (23 points at the end) and found 18 points from Goran Dragic and 16 from Seth Curry
It was a partial 23-4 in which the Celtics defense kept the opponents without baskets for nearly three minutes, overwhelming them with the intensity and thrust of the TD Garden. Seven of the eight men in coach Udoka’s rotation finished in double figuresled by 22 by Jaylen Brown (10 in the last quarter) and i 19 with 10 assists (but 5/16 shooting) by Jayson Tatum, drawing the joker Payton Pritchard from the bench (8 of his 10 points in the final quarter). Williams (17), Horford (16), Theis (15) and Smart (12) also did well
