It’s no secret that Hollywood stars are paid well. However, a new report reveals exactly how much stars like Daniel Craig and Co receive for their work. Some of the sums are incredible.
Life as a Hollywood star is not easy. A stressful job, fame that is sure to be extremely exhausting in the long run, and the fans’ expectation of delivering an even better performance in every film. But life as a sought-after star in the film industry has one clear advantage: Stars like Daniel Craig, Dwayne Johnson and Will Smith never have to worry about money again.
Actors of this caliber have always had high salaries, but especially recently they have skyrocketed. This is due, among other things, to the arms race of streaming services who want to fill ever larger productions with star power. In the meantime, stars often get significantly more money for an original from a streaming service than for a movie. The best example of this is “Knives Out 2”.
After the first part started in the cinema, Netflix secured the rights to the sequel with Daniel Craig. That cost the company a little, because Craig alone is said to receive a whopping 100 million US dollars for two sequels. Dwayne Johnson, who can currently be seen with “Jungle Cruise” in the cinema and who was signed by Amazon Prime Video for the Christmas film “Red One”, will also receive 50 million dollars.
Will Smith and Leonardo DiCaprio are paid $ 40 million and $ 30 million, respectively, for their respective films on major streaming services, and Jennifer Lawrence is paid $ 25 million. Stars Sandra Bullock, Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise and Chris Pine, who will only be shown in theaters in the near future, all got less than $ 20 million, reports Variety. It is therefore clear where the most money can be made as a star in the future.
