One of the most beautiful moments of Star Wars IX: The Rise of Skywalker, but why not also of the entire Star Wars saga, arrives in the final stages of the third act of the new film co-written and directed by JJ Abrams.
We are clearly talking about the final clash between Rey and her grandfather Palpatine, when at the last second, the young Jedi, now defeated, manages to find new momentum thanks to the help of all the Jedi who fought the Dark Side before her.
Nobody appears on the screen, given that Abrams “saves” on the physical cameos by framing the stars that illuminate the darkness of the universe in a rather ingenious way, but fans with more developed hearing, who have seen the film in its original language or not, they may have recognized all the vocal “apparitions” protagonists of the scene.
According to the end credits, the characters who help Rey against Palpatine are Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor), Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen), Ahsoka Tano (Ashley Eckstein), Kanan Jarrus (Freddy Prize Jr.), Luminara Unduli (Olivia D’Abo), Qui-gon Jinn (Liam Neeson), Aayla Secura (Jennifer Hale), Mace Windu (Samuel L. Jackson), Adi Gallia and of course also the recognizable Yoda and Luke Skywalker.
Master Kenobi reads: ” These are your final steps, Rey. Rise and take them … Rey … Rise”, a clear reference to the title of the final episode, while his apprentice who later became opponent Anakin exclaims: ” Rey … Bring back the balance, Rey, as I did … The Force surrounds you, Rey … Let it lift you “.
To the wise Qui-gon the task of informing the new Jedi Rey of what is happening to her with the phrase: ” Every Jedi who ever lived, lives in you … We stand behind you, Rey … Rise”, while al severe Mace Windu is responsible for encouraging the protagonist with the words: ” Feel the Force flowing through you, Rey”.
