A message from the official Twitter account of the series suggests something new for Age of Empires 4 on Monday 19 August, probably during the Inside Xbox.
The official Age of Empires Twitter account has posted a message advising it to follow Inside Xbox on Monday, August 19, 2019, for some ” exciting news” at Gamescom 2019, which could be about Age of Empires 4.
The new chapter of the series is being developed by Relic Entertainment but it is not the only one, considering that there is also Age of Empires II Definitive Edition, which should be in a much more advanced state, considering the launch scheduled for autumn 2019. It is therefore likely that new developments also concern the latter, but some clues suggest a presentation of Age of Empires 4, which was particularly expected as early as E3 2019 but which was not shown on that occasion.
The “exciting news” could, therefore, concern the fourth chapter of the series, which is certainly the thickest project between the two. Furthermore, as some readers have pointed out to us, the presence of Adam Isgreen, creative director in charge of the series, at Gamescom 2019, a few days after a visit at Relic Entertainment, suggests a few updates coming up on the Age of Empires 4 front.
We, therefore, remain on hold, keeping an eye on both the Inside Xbox on Monday 19 August at 5:00 pm and the Opening Night Live on the same day at 8:00 pm.
