Two Frenchmen were killed in the bombing

It is unclear whether they were aid workers or “volunteers” of the Ukrainian military.

The Ukrainian National Police, for their part, indicated that two men of French nationality were killed, and three men and a woman were injured following the drone attack. She announced, in a telegram, the opening of an investigation into violations of the laws and customs of war. “All the victims came to Kherson region as volunteers”Police added.

The French foreign ministry did not immediately respond to a request by AFP overnight from Thursday to Friday.

Berislav, which had about 12,000 inhabitants before the war, is located on the northern bank of the Dnieper River, close to the front line.
