Three teams compete for first place in the 2024 LFL Spring Split standings

The LFL Spring Split regular season moves into its fifth week with the second day of competition, which kicks off the return matches. At the end of the day, BK ROG, Karmine Corp Blue and BDS Academy are competing for the top spot in the rankings, while the mid-table battle continues.

A recovery phase that starts out very strong

The LFL Spring Split 2024 begins a new chapter on the second day of week five, marking the start of the return matches of this regular season. This stage of the competition proves to be crucial for all the teams, each looking to strengthen their position or make a spectacular rise in the rankings. As we prepare to dive into the matches on this important day, the stakes are high for all teams. Every matchup is an opportunity to gain ground or redress the balance in an LFL that is more competitive than ever. So this day promises an intense and strategic clash, where pure tactics and team spirit will be the key to success.

At the end of the previous day’s matches, BK ROG maintained its leadership position, this time against AEGIS, consolidating its position with a fifth straight win in the championship. Just behind in second place are Carmine Corp Blue and BDS Academy, each showing impressive form. Carmine Corp Blue, after a bit of a slump, bounced back to victory by defeating GameWord, while BDS Academy continued their momentum with a third straight win, this time at the expense of Team Du Sud. In the middle of the ranking, Gentle Mates and Team GO are fourth, followed by Solari and Vitality. Competition remains fierce with the bees in sixth place. The battle to avoid the last places is also intensifying, with AEGIS and GameWord in eighth place, facing a series of defeats that threaten their survival. Team du Sud, despite its position at the bottom of the table, is not giving up and may yet reverse its fortunes.

TDS in Red Zone, BDS Academy on its way

The day started with a match between Team du Sud and Gameword, two teams from the bottom of the table. With a slightly aggressive early game and a quarter of an hour into the game, GameWord took the 3k gold lead, showing themselves to be more effective in the lane phase with solid early control of the map. Despite a sharp start to the midgame, the gap between the two teams remained steady, with some team battles that didn’t allow for a clear winner to be determined. In the 26th minute, a poorly executed engage team fight by Nashor Cole and Gameward ended in disaster, with the team suffering an ACE and losing their lead. In the 30th minute, an exceptional performance from SLT on Aatrox with his quadrakill in a top sided team fight allowed TDS to further strengthen its resolve in the game. However, the match took a new turn in the 33rd minute, when Gameward recovered Sol as well as Nashor, and in the end, Gameward took advantage of Team du Sud’s weak position to win the final team fight to successfully close out the game.

The 2nd match between BDS Academy and Vitality.Bee was marked by an intense start to the game, where BDS quickly took the initiative. A quarter into the game, BDS began to gain momentum, using vitality mistakes to open up significant gaps. At 20 minutes, BDS has a lead of 7k gold with three dragons secured, showing their dominance and control of the map. This superiority was confirmed in the 22nd minute during a team fight, which was won handily by BDS, giving Vitality little chance to get back into the game and allowing BDS to secure the first Nashor unchallenged. BDS continued their momentum, stringing together successful actions and securing the Soul in the 23rd minute to secure a decisive breakthrough in the Vitality base. This series of events exacerbated an already critical situation for the force, which, unable to destroy a single enemy turret, overwhelmed itself. The game ended in just 25 minutes, a crushing victory for BDS Academy which made it 4th in a row in just 2 weeks.

Solari’s offering

The 3rd match of the evening between Gentle Mets and Solari was a real emotional roller coaster for the fans and players. Solari started strong, applying constant pressure in the lane, but the game quickly took a chaotic turn with unpredictable actions and offensive decisions from both sides. At 15 minutes, despite being completely tied in terms of gold, Solari took a slight tactical advantage by getting two dragons and five void grubs, showing solid control over neutral objectives. However, Gentle Mates began to gain intensity, proving more and more dangerous as the mid game progressed, a trend that manifested itself in increased performances in early teamfights. Solari, unfazed by the pressure, continued to excel in macro management, scoring the first goal in the 26th minute. The decisive battle in the 33rd minute saw numerous kills from both sides, a testament to the fierce competitiveness between the two teams.

In the 35th minute, Solari took a calculated risk, securing the 2nd Nashor and capturing Sol, although they lost their blocker in the botlane. Another big team fight was won in the 41st minute by Solari, who then tried to end the game by charging towards the Gentle Mets’ base. However, in a dramatic twist, the last Gentle Mats player heroically defended the Nexus, repelling Soleri’s attack. The Gentle Mates then managed to get a double buff (Nashor and Elder), a crucial advantage that allowed them to completely turn the situation around. With renewed momentum, the Gentle Mates launched a final assault on Solari’s base, eventually winning in an absolutely epic game.

Casey Blue – BK ROG, for match of the week

Heralding an intense and competitive game, the match started explosively with several botlane clashes in the first minutes. BK ROG, despite the pressure, displayed excellent team coordination, quickly taking advantage with a 2k gold lead in the opening game, imposing their momentum on the game. However, KCB managed to find their moment by winning the teamfight at 15 minutes, securing two kills and another dragon. At 20 minutes, the game was extremely close, with BK leading with just 1k gold, while KCB came dangerously close as they captured their third dragon. A big highlight came in the 23rd minute, when a clean ace in favor of KCB, led by Flashy and his remarkable teamfight performance, allowed Carmine Corp Blue to secure the first goal.

Perhaps overconfident, KCB was surprised during a botlane push, with BK ROG using a great combo to regain the advantage. However, KCB continued its momentum, regained spirits and thus strengthened its position. In the 31st minute, another victorious team fight, Flashy’s phenomenal contribution once again cemented KCB’s lead as they won the game outright. Finishing the week 2-0, Carmine Corp Blue performed well, moving back into a tie for 1st place with their opponent of the day.

To wrap up week five of the Spring Split, Team GO faced off against AEGIS. GO, with a dynamic entry into the game, took the initiative during the opening game, showing the ability to dominate the game from the first minute. However, mistakes on the side lane gave AEGIS a chance to get back into the game. Two decisive team fights in the 23rd and 26th minutes tipped the balance in favor of Team GO. These skirmishes highlighted the shortcomings of AEGIS in terms of strength and ability to absorb damage from the opposing team. The lack of an effective response to GO’s aggression slowly eroded AEGIS’s resistance, leaving it in an increasingly precarious position as the game progressed. The final blow was delivered during the final team fight at the half-hour mark, where Team GO firmly ensured its supremacy over AEGIS, thus deciding the fate of the match. The victory for Team GO marks their fourth straight loss to AEGIS, a tough blow for a team that will have to find a way to bounce back in the coming weeks.

Heading into the fifth weekend of the regular season, BK ROG, Karmine Corp Blue, and BDS Academy are atop the standings with a combined record of 7 wins and 3 losses. Just behind, Gentle Mates and Team GO are fourth, while Gameword, Solari and Vitality.B are tied for sixth. AEGIS and Team du Sud come in behind, ninth and tenth respectively. Competition Next week, February 21 and 22, for the sixth week of matches, Team GO against BK ROG, BDS Academy against Gentle Mets and Carmine Corp. Vitality.Bee against Blue will resume with important clashes.
