Three houses collapsed on the edge of a cliff in Southern California International
Heavy rains in Southern California caused erosion in a clifftop community, leaving multimillion-dollar homes looking like they were falling off a cliff into the ocean. A large pile of dirt, sand and rocks sits at the base of a cliff on the beach below the houses at the top of Scenic Drive.
According to local media, officials assured residents that the situation was under control. “There are no structures compromised at this time and beachside access is not impacted,” said city manager Mike Killebrew.
Heavy rains in Southern California earlier this month caused part of the Dana Point cliff to collapse, causing landslides and flooding across the region. In Northern California, three people were killed by downed trees from the storm, while rainfall caused devastating flooding in Southern California.
