The Last of Us Part II Remastered has already climbed to the top of Metacritic as the highest rated game of 2024, and it hasn’t even been released yet.
When you think about it, the second Last Of Us game is a bit like Marmite, you either love it or you hate it. In our review of the remastered PlayStation exclusive, we heaped praise on it, even saying there was nothing wrong with it.
It seems that many media outlets also share this opinion, as the game’s positive reviews have earned it a secure spot at the top of Metacritic, making it the highest-rated game of the year so far.
Of course, it’s only January and there are plenty of other games on the horizon that could hit The Last of Us Part II Remastered Bottom line, personally, is on my money Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Do it again but for now, it’s an achievement and well deserved.
Whether fans of the game will agree is another question, and we’ll see what everyone thinks when the game releases on January 19.
Although it’s the same single-player story that fans either loved or hated on PlayStation 4, the remastered version brings back some notable differences and bonus features. For starters, it looks a little better because it’s exclusive to the PlayStation 5. It includes a few missing levels from the original version, a roguelike mode called No Return, new customization options and of course all the bells and whistles. The DualSense controller brings to PS5 games.
