The “horrific and disgusting video” created a huge scandal
It didn’t take long for authorities to react after a video aired showing rider Cesar Parra abusing a horse.
Five months before the Olympic Games, the world of equestrian sports is in a state of flux. The result of the broadcast on social networks of videos of the rider abusing the horse, especially by whipping the head and neck. Videos that include photos showing a horse with a bloody mouth or flanks with spurs.
The officers had no difficulty in identifying the rider in question. This is Cesar Parra, born in Colombia and often at the Olympic Games, whether in his country of birth, in 2004, or in the United States, after his naturalization in 2008. The American Federation was also the first to react.
Temporarily suspended
The US body has in fact condemned “Haunting and Scary Videos” And “Cesar Parra has been provisionally suspended with immediate effect while the FEI analyzes the disturbing and disgusting images and videos relating to his training methods which have recently emerged”. Specifying that it has notified the international federations it is working with as part of the investigation.
The 59-year-old is not the first in controversy since being prosecuted in New Jersey for animal cruelty before being acquitted.
