Tesla Model Y price cut in response to new Renault Scénic E-Tech and Peugeot e-3008
Like last year, around this same period, Tesla is adjusting the price of the Model Y. A model that is still eligible for ecological bonuses.
Tesla is now joining the downward price trend started by manufacturers such as Renault, MG and BYD. However, this price reduction does not result in a loss of eligibility for the ecological bonus, as it concerns Tesla’s eligible models. It’s Tesla’s Model Y that sees its price drop by 3,000 euros.
37,990 euros for the Model Y
This price cut comes after a period where Tesla’s recently observed price cuts were primarily limited to discounts on existing inventory, rather than Official price adjustmentss Thus, the propulsion model of the Model Y is now offered for 42,990 euros.
Considering the current ecological bonus of 5,000 euros (which will increase to 4,000 euros at some point), The final price of the propulsion model is 37,990 euros. This pricing should not only affect the prices of models kept in stock, but also the prices of second-hand models. Moreover, black paint is no longer offered as standard, again billed at 1300 euros. And, good news, unlike the changes made to similar models in the United States and Canada, the installed audio kit is still standard with 13 speakers.
New prices as on January 17, 2024 | Model Y Propulsion | Model Y Long Range | Model Y performance |

Tesla justifies its price cuts by the better efficiency of its factories, and therefore lower production costs.
To do this, we leverage original engineering and manufacturing processes that make our operations more efficient in terms of production rates and costs. By providing these efficiency benefits to our customers, we are able to make a superior product more affordable.

This Tesla strategy can be seen as a response to the arrival of competing electric models such as the Renault Scenic E-Tech and the Peugeot E-3008. The latter stand out for their particularly attractive prices, in any case more attractive than the usual practice of Renault and Peugeot. Here, apparently, Tesla is adjusting its strategy to maintain its competitiveness. You should also keep in mind that the Model Y will benefit from a restyling this year.
