LoL – Patch 14.3: Riot Games Reveals Moon Festival Skins, and It Rocks
After the rest of this announcement
They were announced earlier in the year, but won’t be finally released until League of Legends patch 14.3. Like every year, Riot Games’ MOBA celebrates the Chinese New Year and hosts its “Lunar Festival”. After the Water Rabbit in 2024, it is time for the Year of the Dragon. If Smolder has already received his skin on the theme with the latest update, the other skins will arrive in just under two weeks, and suffice it to say, they’re awesome.
Two prestige versions
Moon Festival is always a big event in League of Legends. Again this year, in addition to new cosmetics, we can expect a massive event with missions and corresponding passes. In terms of skins, here are the ones that have been announced:
- Li Sin Celestial Scale, Ezrael Celestial Scale, Smolder Celestial Scale (already available), Janna Celestial Scale, Diana Celestial Scale, Master Yi Celestial Scale and Kaisa Celestial Scale
- Prestige editions : Lee Sin and Azrael
The community is a little disappointed
Even if these new looks are quite successful, there is clearly a lot of criticism in the community. Why wasn’t Aurelian Soul selected? A choice that seems more than logical when we know that 2024 is the Year of the Dragon in the Chinese calendar. If the studio is doing its part to celebrate the mythical creature, it’s a shame it didn’t think of Star Forger for the event.
A remark which therefore relates to the theme of the Chinese New Year, and which was already made in 2022. As a reminder, that year, it was the year of the Water Tiger… and many hoped to see the Ranger with the New Year. Cosmetic for the event – which, as you can imagine, was not the case.
If it’s true that Riot favors the most popular champions for its new cosmetics (you have to make money), it’s a shame that the developers don’t put in a little effort when such a strong theme is perfectly suited to certain characters.
