Apollonia: One of the oldest cities in Albania
It is one of the oldest cities in Albania, where you can discover a large area of Greek ruins. Despite its historical value and tourist importance, the site is incredibly well-preserved and surprisingly empty.
Visitors will get a chance to observe the temple facade, theater and various other ancient monuments and relics. They will also find a magnificent medieval church on the site, dedicated to Sainte-Marie, which shows the rapid Christianization of the region.
Vlora: Near Italy
Located south of Tirana, just 72 km from the Italian coast, the town of Vlor is one of Albania’s most historic cities. His birth dates back to the sixth century BC.
Close to town is Jal Beach, a beautiful secluded and quiet beach. The city also has one of the most famous natural harbors in the country, at the end of which is Sazan Island.
Religion: An essential stopover on a trip to Albania
Located halfway between Vlora and Saranda on the Ionian coast, the pious village is an essential stopover for any stay on the Albanian Riviera. It is famous for its landscapes with the turquoise blue sea and the Seraunian mountains in the background.
The village is one of the most visited tourist destinations on the entire Albanian coast. Not far from Dhërmi Beach, you can visit the Pirate Cave, accessible by boat or ferry.
Borsch: Ideal for swimming in the Albanian Riviera
This seaside village on the Albanian Riviera is the ideal place for a refreshing swim in the clear waters while observing a magnificent mountain landscape. It has a population of around 1,000 and is part of the Himara municipality.
Borsch is known for its beach, which is the longest in the region, and for its spring that flows down from the mountain, which offers a very beautiful panorama from the castle that dominates the village.
Saranda: One of the most important tourist cities in Albania
Saranda is located on the Ionian Sea in the southwest of Albania. It is one of the most important tourist towns on the Ionian coast and is close to the UNESCO-listed Butrint National Park.
Visitors can explore Kasamil Beach where there are four small islands covered in Mediterranean vegetation. From Saranda you can visit the ruins of Butrint.
The city is just 9 km from the Greek island of Corfu, from where you can go on a Greek island tour. There are actually numerous daily connections between Saranda and Corfu.
