Snow was flying during the Buffalo Bills’ playoff win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Jan. 15, and Josh Allen’s girlfriend may have been at least partially responsible for that.
The game, which was delayed a day after a major winter storm brought heavy snow and wind to the Buffalo area, took place Monday in a stadium still covered in snow. Fans threw snow in the air to celebrate the team’s scores in the 31-17 victory, and one player’s wife playfully accused Hailee Steinfeld of starting her own snowball fight at the game.
Josh Allen’s girlfriend is throwing snow
The allegation comes from Paige Bushelle, wife of Bills practice squad quarterback Shane Bushelle. As noted by 96.1 FM in Buffalo, Buechel took to his Instagram story to share a picture from the game and claimed in a light-hearted accusation that Steinfeld was “trying to fight us.”
While Steinfeld has been a frequent visitor to Allen’s games this season since the two began dating in the offseason, there were no images of her in the wild-card win over the Steelers.
The actress was sometimes forced to miss due to work conflicts, which was in the team’s season-final victory over the Miami Dolphins. While the Bills were winning their fourth straight AFC East title by defeating their rival, Steinfeld was attending the Golden Globes in Beverly Hills.
While there, Steinfeld showed off a huge ring but dismissed engagement rumors. When asked if there was any special meaning behind the ring, she insisted that it was just a style choice.
“No particular reason,” she said. “I thought it was really beautiful.”
Bills fans made the most of the cool conditions
Although the storm that dumped more than two feet of snow on parts of Buffalo had passed by the time Monday’s game started, conditions inside the stadium were still very difficult for fans.
The team requested help to clear mountains of snow outside the stadium, but crews of local residents working overnight were still only able to clear the walkways, the seats covered in deep snow.
Although some insiders speculated that the game might not go ahead on Monday due to the depth of the snow, New York Gov. Buffalo native Cathy Hochul insisted the game would go on.

Bills fans found a way to cheer the game, and celebrated the team’s scores by throwing handfuls of ice in the air. His passion got a good look from Bills owner Terry Pegula, who shared some praise for his impromptu on-ice celebration.
“I know the stadium conditions weren’t the best due to the storm, but the playfulness and energy you brought yesterday was electric and memorable,” Pegula wrote in a statement posted on the team. Social media. “I’ll never forget your celebration on the ice during the game and after our touchdown.”
“Thanks, Bills for being a mafia class act. See you Sunday night.”
