Big success in this car dealership

Leasing at a rate of 100 euros per month is a system put in place by the government to allow low-income families to purchase an electric vehicle. A plan that has met with great success at many car dealerships.

This new system, desired by the President of France, is reserved for the 50% lowest income families whose reference income is less than or equal to 15,400 euros per year. 4 to 5 million people are affected. The system will be dedicated to workers who drive more than 8,000 km per year, as well as residents who live more than 15 km from their workplace.

The government is increasing its support for clean mobility for families who need a vehicle for their business travel », suggests the Ministry of Economy. However, the first electric cars have not yet been delivered to their owners. From December, prospective buyers are able to pre-register with car dealerships.

The number of requests for electric vehicles is increasing

Requests are exploding, with more than 80,000 since January 1, 2024, actu.fr shows. ” I spoke to other dealers all over France, there are about 1,000 requests a day. It is enormous! », explains Nicolas Tullorge, manager of the Ford dealership in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin.

As a result, the limit of 20,000 electric cars announced by the government has been largely exceeded. ” Currently, we are still pre-registering customers who meet the requirements for social leasing. But we don’t know if the state will put more cars on the market under these conditions or if their requests will be rejected. We are a little in the dark », explains Alexandre Lecadet, Manager at Opel in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin.

Leasing 100 euros per month gives low-income families a great opportunity to buy an electric vehicle. However, not all dealerships offer it. For good reason, the vehicles concerned must have batteries produced in Europe. “ These are the same conditions for receiving the ecological bonus », recalls Eric Brisson from Citroën.

For households that do not meet the conditions required to gain access, leasing is still possible. ” This represents 80% of my sales », suggests Nicholas Tullorge from Ford. ” This is 75% of my sales », assures Alexandre Lecadet from Opel. For dealers, this option allows the customer to drive the vehicle. Without having to worry about repairing or reselling the vehicle
