Bella Porch was born on February 9, 1997 in the Philippines to her Filipino biological parents. Her grandmother lived in a slum until she was three when she was adopted. Her adoptive father is a white American with military experience, while her adoptive mother is Filipino. She claims that she and her adopted brother were abused from when she was a child until she was drafted. Her family moved to San Francisco for a few months to live with her aunt before moving to Texas when she was 13 due to her father’s need for bypass surgery. She claims to have endured the physical assault, but she still faced mental abuse from her father at home. She enlisted in the United States Navy when she turned 18.
Poarch started her TikTok account in April 2020 and quickly rose to stardom, amassing more than 40 million fans in less than eight months. She uploaded various videos, but her biggest hit was the video for Miley B’s viral song ‘Sof Aspin Sand’.
A zoom-in video of her rhythmically jumping and lip-syncing to the melody went viral, becoming one of TikTok’s most popular videos of all time. In the months after joining TikTok, she started a YouTube and Twitter account to capitalize on her fame. Porch’s growing popularity peaked in December 2020. She drew interest from two major professional esports teams. 100 Thieves and FaZe Clan expressed interest in jobs as content creators under their respective brands.
Porch was punished for wearing a tattoo resembling the rising sun flag in his video. He apologized in September 2020 and said he would take care of it immediately. In 2020, she launched the RIPNDIP x Paca Collaboration, a limited-edition clothing line.
Due to the increase in hate crimes against Asian-Americans, Porch has publicly voiced his support for the fight against anti-Asian racism. She spoke about the matter and gave a message in a video she posted on TikTok on March 19, 2021. She also spoke to “Vogue” about her experiences as an Asian child in the United States. After immigrating to the United States from the Philippines, she was “treated differently” and “randomly assaulted and assaulted.”
Porch secured a record deal with Warner Records in May 2021 and released his first single. “Billboard” described the accompanying music video as “a daring, darkly comic slice of new-school pop”. It was produced in collaboration with producer-songwriter Daniel Virgil Maisonneuve known as Suburban.
