While Fortnite and Metal Gear Solid’s collaboration has pleased longtime fans of the franchise, many are angry at Fortnite for what they call “butchering” Snake and criticized the developers for their poor treatment of the iconic character.

The latest Fortnite update adds Raiden’s Old Snake from Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots as well as Metal Gear Solid 2. Players were hoping that Raiden’s outfit would come from the spin-off title Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, but they were disappointed. The trailer featured Solid Snake and Raiden disappearing and fighting enemies as well as various cosmetics for the characters. As much as fans love to see their favorite characters in the game, they are furious. Fans criticized the character models, which looked cartoonish, with many writing “that’s not a solid snake”. Fans of the franchise also criticized the developers for the poor graphics and the fact that it looks like a mobile game, adding that Fortnite would spoil the Metal Gear franchise.
