A Pokemon Go player has shared his grief over losing a Pokemon at a gym after he didn’t return from his mission for over 200 days.
In the main Pokemon games, players must conquer gyms by bringing their best Pokemon to face the champion. In Pokemon Go, you must also defend gyms on behalf of your chosen team.
Once a gym is claimed, you can send Pokémon to defend it, giving other teams a chance to claim it. Protecting gyms is valuable for most players because you can earn PokéCoins by doing so, which is Pokemon Go’s premium currency that usually costs real money.

Location is the reason for most long stays at Pokemon Gyms. Those who defend arenas in busy cities will face many challenges, while those who claim arenas in isolated locations won’t have as much competition, so a strong defender can keep competitors at bay indefinitely.

The fact that there is a PokéCoin limit on gym stays is a huge waste, as it will encourage players to fight for gyms for longer. As it stands, this Gardevoir will only give as many coins as the Cunotar that protects the arena for a fraction of the time.
