The Assembly of the Cuban Resistance (ARC) launched a new international campaign this Tuesday in Miami called ‘Unity and Independence against Democratic Change and Communism in Cuba’.
Cuban Democratic Directorate representative Orlando Gutierrez said in a statement Telemundo 51 That initiative plans to support Cuban political prisoners, exiles and resistance on the island.
Additionally, it considers actions supports Sweden in its claim That ends the European Union’s subsidies to the regime of Havana.
Musicians and artists based in South Florida supported the proposal, including Amoury Gutierrez, Marisela Verena, Carlos Oliva, Jorge Luis Pilotto, Luis Bofill, Al Funky, and Greg Jackson.
Gathered at the American Museum of the Cuban Diaspora in Miami, attendees heard songs such as “The Anticommunist March,” whose music video was recorded in its English version with Paquito D’Rivera and American singer Greg Jackson.
Gutierrez assured that it would be possible to end the regime with the union, citing Telemundo 51.
Prominent political leaders and international activists advocating for change on the island also participated in the event.
ARC brings together nearly 50 organizations to promote democracy and respect for human rights in Cuba.
Since 2022, this organization has been running a campaign to prevent the European Community from continuing to support the Cuban regime with subsidies that are used to oppress the people of the island.
Last November, the Swedish government formally requested a review of the Agreement on Political Dialogue and Cooperation (ADPC). European Union (EU) with the Cuban regime, and alleged that there had been serious human rights violations on the island.
The Minister for Development and Foreign Trade, Johann Forsel, criticized the EU’s policy of “constructive engagement” with the Cuban regime as ineffective and said the ADPC had only been applied provisionally for five years.
