“You are corrupt”, Crepin raged against Diatta Arbitration and CAF
Crepin Diatta, Senegal’s right-back, accused members of the African confederation of being corrupt after his team’s defeat (1-1, 5 tab 4) to host country Ivory Coast in CAN’s round of 16. He condemns the no-whistle penalty for the Lions of Teranga.
“You are corrupt,” Senegalese defender Crepin Diatta told members of CAF, angered by the refereeing after elimination against Ivory Coast (1-1, 4 from 5 tabs) in the round of 16 of the African Cup of Nations in Yamoussoukro on Monday. .
“You Killed Us”
“You beat us, you are corrupt. Keep your African Cup,” the AS Monaco right winger told members of the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) media service in the mixed zone where journalists and players meet after matches.
Diatta thought Ismaila Sir (55th) had been penalized for a foul by Odilon Cosonou and criticized the referee, Gabonese Pierre Ghislain Acho, for not consulting the video. Ivory Coast equalized with Frank Casey’s penalty after a foul by goalkeeper Edouard Mendy on Nicolas Pepe (86), which was credited to VAR.
“Everybody saw it,” he added to the press. You cannot decide the fate of an entire country like this. It is unfathomable.”
“You go to VAR to give them a penalty, a guy (Ismaila Sir editor’s note) who takes the ball 40 meters and enters the area, and you don’t want to go to VAR? I’m sorry. But there it’s offensive. I’m really sorry but they killed our competition there,” Diatta said.
The referee could also have sent off the Senegal captain for a tackle on the shin of Ibrahim Sangare (9). He only received a yellow card.
