Fortnite leak reveals details of upcoming open-world mode
Fortnite doesn’t seem to be done adding new modes, with a leaker currently sharing information about an open-world game mode that’s currently in development.
Fortnite originally started out as “Save the World,” a cooperative mode against hordes of monsters before morphing into a battle royale game. Fortnite’s evolution back then was spectacular.
The latest season, Chapter 5 Season 1, continues to transform the game with three new modes: LEGO Fortnite, Festival and Rocket Racing. Each of these mods takes inspiration from the greatest video game hits and adds a new dimension to the Fortnite formula.

And according to a recent leak, it looks like Epic Games’ journey won’t stop there, as a new open world mode is in development.
A new open-world Fortnite mode? Codename “Arnold”
According to the leaker Twitter/X Egyptian_liquor, Fortnite may soon introduce a new open-world game mode. Dubbed “Arnold”, this mode will allow players to navigate through different biomes, interact with NPCs and explore dynamic locations.
If this proves to be true, this mode should include much of what was present in previous seasons. Biomes will be standard areas such as grasslands and deserts, locations will change over time, and friendly NPCs will sell items or offer help.

There will be three acts to play, with each act offering new activities and experiences, possibly hinting at the narrative in this mode.
Initial fan reactions to the leak have been mixed, if not confused, with many wondering why Epic would release LEGO Fortnite and another open world mode at the same time. “It’s a bit silly when this and LEGO Fortnite look alike“, specifically declared a player.
However, others have protested that this could be an attempt by Epic Games to create a campaign mode. LEGO Fortnite will fulfill the desire of Minecraft, while this mod can be a lore-rich Fortnite story.

Egyptian_liquor concluded Having said that the game files hint at the release of this mod during this season, however this seems highly unlikely.
So stay tuned for more information on the “Arnold” project.
