UFV and the community of Madrid create a chair on occupational safety, health and well-being
The Community of Madrid has signed an agreement with the University of Francisco de Vitoria that promotes inclusion in culture, education and safety, health and well-being in the workplace, which operates through the Regional Safety and Security Institute. IRSST).
This has been explained by the Minister of Economy, Finance and Employment. Rocio Albert, during the signing of the agreement, which highlights that the professionals trained in the classrooms of the University of Francisco de Vitoria are the best link between the university and the business world. Therefore, the organization shall make available to the Chairman the tools, documents, facilities and infrastructure for monitoring and implementation of the programmed activities.
Rector of UFV, Daniel forever, seeks to highlight the commitment, collaboration and importance of knowledge transfer in the field of safety and health. “As a university we must transfer the knowledge gained through research and teaching at the university to companies and society in general. This is aligned with UFV’s mission to make a practical and relevant impact in the business and social world,” explained the Rector.
for its part, Marina Para, CAM’s General Director of Labor and Manager of the Regional Institute of Safety and Health at Work (IRSST), highlighted that the IRSST is one of the best regional organizations in Spain and its role as a reference in national conferences and meetings and to disseminate preventive practices in the community of Madrid. And this is sought by companies to establish, which shows the significant impact and scope of their work. He also wanted to highlight a particularly emotional and significant aspect of the organization’s work, which is the inclusion of people with disabilities in a preventive culture. The director specifies a specific program that allows these people to acquire basic skills in occupational risk prevention, which facilitates their integration into the labor market.
This agreement is framed in the objectives contained in the VI Master Plan on occupational risk prevention, which establishes the creation of an R&D&i line aimed at researching the effects of working conditions, and which has already been translated into other companies with other companies.
Among planned actions, the promotion of projects related to vulnerable people or people with functional diversity is different; product and service development; Promotion of dissemination of results through scientific and technical publications; Meetings of experts, cooperation in other educational initiatives, support for studies and organization of conferences, seminars or current forums on the subject.
