Alcides Magdariaga Chacón, an elderly Cuban who disappeared in Santiago de Cuba, was found dead inside a lot of cisterns with lots of weeds a few meters from the ‘El Caney’ highway near where he lived.
Cuban journalist Cuzco Taradale reported the sad news through his social network where he clarified that the results of the forensic analysis are still awaited.
Alcides Magdariaga Chacón, an 80-year-old Cuban citizen of Santiago, was found dead on January 8, 2024, around 2 pm local time, inside a weedy pond, about 50 meters from ‘. El Caney highway and the Flores neighborhood in Santiago de Cuba,” Terradel said from his Facebook profile.
According to the reporter’s message, “Magadariaga Chacón was a well-liked, noble, hard-working man, whose daily recreation was cutting herbs to feed the animals and help neighbors in the area.”
The journalist recalled the details of when the old man disappeared and sent condolences to his family and friends.
“The last time he was seen alive by his relatives was on January 3, 2024, around 8 am when he was leaving his house to do his usual work of cutting. While awaiting the latest results of the forensic report, I am writing this very sad note. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. Endless thanks to all who were concerned about his disappearance and supported his family even from the United States. “I’m very sorry,” the reporter declared.
Alcides Magdariaga Chacón, 80 years old, was last seen on January 3 when he left for work.
Magdariaga, who was described as a “Good Samaritan” was a native of the Flores neighborhood of the town of “El Cani”. On Wednesday, January 3, he was last seen, early in the morning, when he left his home where he works as an employee. He was wearing green work clothes and a blue hat.
