Pokemon Go players are tired of these pointless challenges

Pokémon Go players are fed up with the PokéStop scan missions, many wondering why Niantic added them in the first place.

Since its launch, Pokémon Go has had its fair share of questionable features, with many fans criticizing things like routes, PokéStop events, party play, and more. Naturally, some features take some getting used to, and many people enjoy new rewards or bonuses by participating.

However, there is one feature that remains as controversial as it was when it was first implemented in the game – the PokéStop scan. In essence, when completing a field research mission, you’ll be asked to scan a PokéStop or Arena, meaning you need to pick up your phone and film the landmark or feature the PokéStop is highlighting. Naturally, this can be very uncomfortable for some players.

“Scanning Pokestops – who thought that was a good idea?”asked a player on Pokémon Go Reddit.

How did he explain his frustration? “You have to film while moving for about 20 seconds” And “Local PokéStops are like playpens for kids. I’m not going to film in a neighborhood children’s park, especially as a grown man who thinks this is OK should be fired.”

Many PokéStops are in locations that are quite uncomfortable to film, such as a children’s park, school, church or even a cemetery – so it’s understandable that players might not want to pull out their cameras.

Other fans joined in the comments to express their disappointment: “Okay. Okay. Okay. I absolutely hate these scan jobs. They force us to miss real research tasks that are required for events. It’s almost impossible to find a Pokéstop with real research tasks where I live.”Proves how annoying scans can be for rural players.

Luckily, one user shared a top tip to get rid of these annoying stains: “Just put one at the top of your search and you’ll stop receiving it. It’s boring, you’ll always have one but you can still stack 3 other real research tasks.”
