Xbox has made its strategy clear and if some key questions still remain unanswered, such as the possible disappearance of physical games, the necessary clarifications have been made. And when we talk about exclusives, this year 2024 should be very dense on the Xbox side as more than 10 major releases are expected.
10+ Big Releases from Xbox Studios in 2024
Regarding Xbox exclusives, we know that four games will be coming to competing consoles which we assume will be PS5 and Nintendo Switch. We also know that the brand’s boss, Phil Spencer, isn’t closing the door on any other games that could be released by PlayStation or even Nintendo. This will be on a case-by-case basis, depending on Microsoft’s business ambitions.
However, what is certain is that the year 2024 should be very good for Xbox. Talking about the many Microsoft-owned studios today, Xbox Studios boss Matt Booty announced “over 10 major releases” this year. He quoted
We are one of the largest organizations in the industry today. What does this mean for players? This means that the biggest games will continue to come to Xbox. And in 2024, next year, we have more than 10 big releases coming.
Here’s a list of major releases named by Matt Booty on the February 15th Xbox Podcast broadcast:
- Hellblade 2
- Diablo IV: Character of Hatred (Expansion)
- approved
- Ara: History Untold
- Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle
In addition to these 5 big releases, we can also add Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 which is confirmed for 2024, as well as Towerborne and New Call of Duty which could be Black Ops during the Gulf War. As for the remaining three releases (at least), we’ll have to wait until the Xbox conference in June to find out about them!
