Who will benefit from the increase and who will be penalized?
On the 5th of every month, CAF pays out its various social assistance payments to as many French people as it has access to. With the revaluation of resource limits for the year 2022, it is on Monday 5 February that this revaluation will be able to record the amount of allocation received.
” Every year, from August to October, CAF collects your resources for year N-2 from the tax authorities for renewal of your rights or calculation of your new rights. », indicates the National Family Allowance Fund (CNAF) on its website. Thus, two categories are distinguished. Recipients whose income has fallen, stagnated or increased by less than 5.3% in 2022 will see an increase in the amount of benefits they receive on February 5. On the other hand, those whose incomes increase by more than 5.3% in 2022, the amount of assistance paid by CAF will decrease.
” The resource limit for family benefits applicable in mainland France, overseas territories, Mayotte, Saint-Martin, Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon has increased by 5.3%. » in 2022, as explained by the Unity Minister. As a result, those whose income has decreased, stagnated or increased by less than 5.3% will benefit from this increase in the resource limit. On the other hand, those whose income growth is more than 5.3% will be penalized by this revaluation, as they will move to a higher bracket.
Who benefits and who is affected by this reassessment of resource constraints?
Moneyvox Illustrate these two cases with two examples. The first concerns a couple with two children whose annual resources were 70,000 euros in 2021. So these beneficiaries received 141.99 euros in family allowance in 2023 (band 1), but in this example, the couple’s annual resources have increased to 77,000 euros in 2022. This, with a 10% increase, is therefore more than a revaluation of resource limits. 5.3%, the couple switches to stage 2 and will benefit from a family allowance of only 71 euros on February 5, 2024.
In contrast, a couple with two children whose annual resources were 72,000 euros in 2021 and who stopped in 2022, the amount of this support will increase from 71 euros to 141.99 euros on February 5, 2024. (Couples switch to Tranche 1).
