On February 1, the Generalized Social Contribution (CSG) rate changed. The revaluation, which also affects the Agirc-Arrco supplementary pension, will be reflected in the pension received next March.
First, it is important to remember that the Agirc-Arrco supplementary retirement pension is usually paid on the 1st of the month. Actually, the pension for the month of March will be paid on Friday March 1, 2024. On the other hand, the April pension will be paid on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. Same for the month of May which will be paid on Thursday. May 2, 2024 (1ᵉʳ May is a public holiday). For the month of June, it will be paid on Monday June 3, 2024 (1st and 2nd weekend).
Agirc-Arrco Supplementary Retirement Pension for the month of July will be paid on Monday July 1, 2024, same for the month of August on Thursday August 1, 2024. For the month of September, the payment date will correspond to Monday 2 September. Will be on Tuesday 1st October. For the month of November, it will be paid on Monday, November 4. Finally, payment will be made on Monday, December 2, 2024.
Reduction and increase in pension for certain retirees
As for the expected changes in the Agirc-Arrco supplementary pension amount, the concerned will either increase or decrease, all depending on the new CSG rate. Clearly, retirees whose CSG rates have increased in 2024 will get a lower pension than what they would normally get, as the January and February pensions were calculated based on the old rates. Consequently, the excess payment will be deducted from the March monthly payment. On the other hand, for retirees whose CSG rate has been reduced, the pension for the month of March will be higher than what would normally be received, compensating for the contributions improperly collected in January and February.
From April, retirees whose pensions were increased in March will continue to receive higher monthly payments than before. On the other hand, those whose pension has been reduced will get a lower pension than what they were getting earlier. In addition, It is also important to remember that the Agirc-Arrco supplementary retirement pension must be declared for tax next May.
