Juarez City.- Besides imposing fines (fines) for improperly entering bridge queues, ‘rogue’ drivers can be left without their vehicles and even jailed.

Since the beginning of December and with a large number of people traveling in El Paso, Texas via the international bridge, the General Coordination of Road Safety (CGSV) on the instruction of Mayor Cruz Pérez Cuellar implemented an operation to avoid disorder in the queues. , as some drivers got into ‘The Brava’, causing inconvenience.

The head of the corporation, Cesar Alberto Tapia Martínez, ordered agents to be alert and sent more than 20 officers to make sure that people do not queue properly, reported the operations director, Victor Daniel Mejia.

Since then, more than 150 drivers have been fined, about 20 have ended up with their cars in a public yard (Coralan) and citizens who tried to attack CGSV agents have also been arrested.

“The instruction is clear, we’re not just going to remove them from the line, but we’re going to apply automatic violations for not obeying traffic choices, not obeying officers’ instructions, and lack of policy,” Commander Mejia explained.

The operational director pointed out that some drivers get upset, go before a civil judge to complain about the agents’ actions, but have video cameras and evidence of the action when they are removed from the line on the bridge.

He said there are penalties of up to 1,100 pesos for disobeying the rules and up to 9,000 pesos for assaulting, insulting or turning over the vehicle to agents.
