This is the hike, planned by the motorway company, from February 1
February 2024 is approaching and its expected changes are already on the horizon. Along with the increase in electricity prices from the first day of the month, there is also a hike in the toll prices which comes into effect from the same date. This will undoubtedly displease motorway users, especially as another increase is already in sight.
Like every February 1, this year too there is a plan to increase the toll prices. This is certainly not a measure that will please drivers and motorway users. The contract between the state and the companies responsible for managing these road corridors, in fact, provides for the revision of prices during this period, annually, in line with inflation. Following the recent gradual increase, a trend is set to continue.
“According to INSEE’s forecast, inflation should fall below 3% during the year 2024. As a result, toll prices will increase by an average of 3% in a few days. This is the sixth consecutive increase »remember JDN. In reviewing these proposed increases, we realize that not all highway concessionaires will apply the same increase.
An average increase of about 3%
therefore, “Companies of the Vinci group, such as Autoroute du Sud de la France (ASF), Cofiroute and Escota, which operate the A7, A10, A11 and A86 motorways in particular, will increase their prices by 2.71%”, in detail Internet newspaper. For its part, SANEF, the company that looks after the A1 and A4 motorways, “It will raise its toll prices by 2.79%”.
merchant “APRR (Autoroute Paris Rhin Ron), manager of sections A5, A6, A19, among others”will increase by “Over 3.02%”. AREA (A43, A41, etc.) and SAPN (A13, A14, etc.) companies also apply a slightly higher increase of 3%. They will be around 3.04% and 3.08% respectively.
The Millau Viaduct represents the largest increase with over 5.83%
The biggest increases are generally expected on networks where the state has the majority of shares, such as the Mont Blanc motorways and tunnels (ATMB) where tolls will increase by 3.23%, the axis of the Frejus tunnel by 3.87%, the A150 connecting Rouen. 5.41% in Le Havre and A79 4.99% in Allier.
The highest growth rate is recorded at Millau Viaduct with over 5.83%. The latter will however increase to a plus 5.56% in the summer. Among the smallest networks, the Mont-Blanc Autoroutes and Tunnels (ATMB) will increase by 3.23%, the Normandy Bridge by 1.72%, the A86 Duplex by 4.77% (non-subscriber rate). There will be a 5.41% increase for the A150 between Rouen and Le Havre and a 4.99% increase for the A79 in Allier.
The average increase in tolls will reach 5% in 2025.
The outlook for 2025 promises to be tougher for users who will have to deal with more than that. “4.9% on SAPN network, 5.8% on Vinci, 6% for SANEF, and finally 6.2% on APRR”.. This more significant increase is being considered by concessionaires with the aim of offsetting new taxes placed by the state on long-distance transport which will also affect motorway companies.
