The first coach since the Special Football Commission in the league has managed only one club
The University Sports League’s new football commission, which will apparently be entrusted to the son of the organization’s president Isaac Alvarez, has already decided on the coach that will replace Luis Zubeldia.
This Sunday afternoon, First fruits And Mundo Deportivo confirmed that Spanish nationality coach, Josep Alcacer, will be the new coach of Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito; In place of Luis Zubeldia.
Alcacer will arrive in the country as a historic coach, the first in decades, elected outside the Special Football Commission, first by Rodrigo Paz Delgado and then by his son Esteban. Likewise, in addition to several national titles, Albo leaves a legacy of Copa Libertadores, two South American Cups and two South American Cup Winners’ Cups in the team’s showcase.
At 44 years old, Josep has only been head coach at UD Alcorcón. As a technical assistant he has worked at: CD Castellon, Villarreal B, Real Sporting de Jijón, Elche CF, Getafe, Villarreal CF and Granada CF.
