One of the biggest stars in LoL draws over 150,000 people and offers a record for one of the leagues most admired fans!
After the rest of this announcement
The 2024 competitive League of Legends season is underway and various leagues have returned to the fray. Last week, the LEC Winter Split kicked off, with SK Gaming in very good shape and disillusioned Karmine Corp. The war has resumed in LCK as well as in its academic department. Later also created history by recording audience record.
Record in LCK due to special attendance
If you’ve been caved in the past few weeks, you may have missed this information. After retraining for a support role, Rackles, formerly of Fnatic, decided to go into exile in South Korea to play for G2 Esports and even Carmine Corp, the reigning world champion structure, T1’s academic team.
Later on 16 January, LCK played their first match under their new colors at Challengers. In front of a packed house, the first match attracted more than 150,000 spectators. The meeting peaked at 159,000 viewers on Twitch, according to Esports Chartsbreaking the previous record of 38,000.
The second match of the day (which was played earlier) also benefited, as the clash between HLE Challengers vs DPlus Challengers attracted 42,000 spectators. Sure, T1 Esports Academy lost its Bo3 1 to 2, but Reckless’ presence in the league has undoubtedly boosted the audience.
And what’s next?
If you missed Reckless’ debut in the LCK Academy League, don’t panic. The next T1 Esports Academy match is tomorrow, but at 6am he and his teammates will face Dplus KIA Challengers, a team that also lost its first match of the season.
Note that Reckless is not the team’s sole support as he shares the position with Moon “Cloud” Hyeon-ho. It remains to be seen who will start the next meeting.
