Wireless Headphones and Me: A True Love Story

Before becoming a tech journalist, I made a living from music for a few years. I can also tell you that the world of sound and everything that revolves around it has fascinated me for a long time. So naturally I took charge of the “Sound and Image” department of JVTECH. I’m the one who cares about television news and tests but… wireless headphones.

Because yes, I’ve always been on the “headphone team.” I am well aware that audiophile headphones provide access to better sound quality, but, In my opinion, helmets are too restrictive in everyday use. They are heavy, bulky, sometimes very uncomfortable (especially when you have glasses) and, to benefit from the best of audiophile headphones, you have to connect them to a very high quality source. On a daily basis: laziness. I like to walk around bagless with a good pair of headphones in my pocket.

I love music and I love headphones. exactly Now a question arises: Which product to buy? Thanks to my work at JVTECH, I have had the opportunity to test almost every major product released in 2022 and 2023. Samsung, Google, Huawei, Sony… I’ve had so many amazing wireless headphones pass my ears by.

So let’s start by saying frankly: Yes, the AirPods Pro 2 are some of the best wireless earbuds on the market, especially for those already in the Apple ecosystem. Whether you love apples or hate them, you have to admit it. AirPods Pro 2 has tons of practical features, is super comfortable, intuitive, elegant, and delivers top-notch sound while shutting you out from the world thanks to excellent active noise reduction. Honestly, if I hadn’t had the opportunity to test several other pairs of headphones, I would have just rushed and spent almost €300 on the AirPods Pro 2, an obvious choice.

But here it is: I found my favorite pair of headphones. Released at €299, it currently costs less than the AirPods Pro 2 (it’s a sale, so we’re going from €299 to €199, not bad). His name? Bose QC Earbuds II. In terms of sound quality, noise reduction or comfort, for me, These wireless headphones crush the already excellent AirPods Pro 2.

I ended up ditching the AirPods Pro 2 for the Bose QC earbuds II

Yes, I gave my AirPods Pro to my mother. The product’s ease of use is perfect for older women who need intuitive tech items anchored in a comfortable ecosystem. Here I will try to tell you the main thing and a few short paragraphs.

In short, remember that:

• In terms of comfort, it doesn’t get any better. The semi-intra tips + stability band are a joy to have on your ears.
• The best noise reduction on the market in 2022, quite simply. Natural and convincing “open” mode.
• The sound is rich, adjustable and precise with amazing bass.
• The Bose Music app, downloadable on iOS or Android, is simple and effective. The joy of ergonomics.
• There are complete and intuitive controls directly on the earpiece.
• For autonomy, it is also great. We last a good 6 hours before passing out.

For me, apart from 3 or 4 minor details (no wireless charging or multipoint bluetooth, for example), we’re on. A perfect product. On the essentials, namely comfort, noise reduction and above all sound quality, the QC Earbuds II are, for me, the best Bluetooth headphones on the market, even if they were introduced in 2022.

Note that a product update called Bose QC Ultra was released recently. I tested this fix for JV as well and I tell you: Not worth spending €100 more for such little development. The Earbuds II and Ultra are almost identical in one or two micro details.
