With a launch date of 2025, GTA VI is a game that has been on everyone’s lips for years, and now with an official confirmation from Rockstar, many are patiently awaiting its release.
In a recent interview, Tech-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick talked about the situation before and after GTA VI was announced.
GTA VI Trailer Leaked: Take-Two CEO Speaks
GTA VI has certainly been one of the most talked about titles in recent years, from rumors to actual leaks that have revealed a lot about the game. Not to mention hacker attacks from overzealous fans. As the 25th anniversary of the Grand Theft Auto series approaches, it looks like Take-Two and Rockstar have plans to release a teaser for the new GTA on December 5, 2023 at 3:00 PM CET. Unfortunately, the trailer was affected by another leak, which was posted on Twitter (X) about 24 hours before the scheduled time.
Strauss-Zelnick speaks directly to this, saying that the premature release of the trailer was disappointing but ultimately did not affect the team in any way. In fact, he goes on to say that despite the leaks, the unanimous response from the GTA VI community has far exceeded their expectations. Breaking many records in just a few hours, such as the most popular gaming tweet or how the trailer even surpassed the previous record of views in 24 hours, previously held by MrBeast.
GTA VI leak’s impact on the video game industry
Now with a more solid release date set for 2025, GTA VI continues to be the talk of the town thanks to the community. Teaser video analytics that analyze each frame to predict and gather information, including one of the main character, Lucia, which is reconstructed from the footage to be added to various games through community mods. And of course, the much loved return of Vice City with a new story in one of the most ambitious GTA ever.
Additionally, the Rockstar team marked this teaser as the first in the series to arrive before the critical date. In order to add new information and satisfy the fans and keep interest in the game more.
GTA VI: Challenges awaiting the title in the future
Obviously, it’s not all rosy for the Rockstar team. In fact, the incredible success that GTA V has achieved over the past 10 years is remarkable. Primarily through community and role-playing servers, modes in which players assume the role of a character and interact with other players in their own role, such as a large improv show. We already know that some particularly popular figures in the role-playing game, such as modders and streamers, have been contacted directly by Rockstar, almost guaranteeing the presence of the role-playing game from the beginning.
However, Rockstar will have to handle the launch as best as possible, especially in light of the disastrous launches of many recent AAA titles, both technically and story-wise. Another important criticism would be the much talked about PC version, which Rockstar has always released at least 1 year after the console version during various titles. In short, it remains to be seen what awaits us in the year 2024, hoping to see more official information from the team on the highly anticipated GTA VI.
