Good news from Karset for retirees
As with every start of the year, pensions are revalued to cope with changes in consumer prices. For this year, the basic pension has been increased by 5.3%.
Invited by France Bleu, Carset Rhône-Alpes manager and radio expert, Laure Germain, explained that the increase will concern the monthly payment for January, which will be paid on February 9 (the date of payment of the general system pension).
Who will be affected by this increase in pension?
Lor Germain explained that this revaluation of 5.3% “ Retirees with retirement insurance, because each retirement institution has its own revaluation rates and its own date of application, but as far as CARSAT Rhône-Alpes is concerned, it is 5.3% on the monthly payment for January paid in February. “As for social security contribution rates, no change is expected compared to last year.” There is no change in levy rates. On the other hand, if the insured’s tax situation has changed, it may actually change. That is to say, each pension is subject to tax depending on whether it is taxable and the rates applicable to the monthly payment. And that doesn’t change “, she elaborated.
For its part, the retirement.com site indicates that the 5.3% increase will apply to members of certain plans that are:
- Former Private Sector Employees and Self-Employed Workers (CNAV);
- Former Agricultural Sector Employees (MSA);
- Ex-employees of State Civil Service (SRE);
- Ex-agents of Regional Public Service – FPT – and Hospital – FH (CNAVPL);
- Special regime: SNCF (CPRPSNCF), RATP (CRPRATP), gas and electricity industries; (CNIEG), Notary (CRPCEN) or Paris Opera (CROPERA).
