In the United States, the state public transportation company of New Jersey (NJ Transit) offers a special promotion for college students. NJ Transit operates several trains, buses and streetcars throughout the state.
It is the only public company that covers an entire state and is the third largest provider of bus and train travel in the United States. For this year, NJ Transit is implementing a program in which students can ride free for a month on any of its transit lines.
The promotion includes one month of free and unlimited travel for students with the purchase of their three-month student pass. The pass makes it easier for them to travel on any form of transportation operated by NJ Transit.
All New Jersey students are eligible to receive their NJ Transit Student Pass. Full-timers and those pursuing a degree or taking at least two courses part-time will benefit.
Full-time and part-time degree earners can save an additional 25% if the school participates in a university partnership program. Partner universities have websites to sign up for discounted train, bus, bus or light rail passes during the month.

For the promotion, passes will be purchased on a monthly basis through the NJTransit APK, available for iOS and Android in February, March and April 2024. These three purchases will qualify for a free month of travel in May 2024.
The student pass will be saved as a ticket option in the NJ Transit mobile app and will appear each month when the pass is available. You can buy it from 5 pm on the 19th of the previous month to the 10th of the month in which the pass is valid.
The promotion starts in the month of February, you can buy from 19 January to 10 February till 5 PM. After this time, you may lose the opportunity to travel for free for one month.
The pass will be credited to the student’s account before traveling using the May Pass. The company assures that this promotion will save the student more than 60% on transportation to attend classes from February to May 2024.
May 2024 free pass is non-refundable, non-transferable and must be used only in this month. Additionally, it specifies that the free pass will not include SEPTA and Metro-North stations or Newark Liberty International Airport.
